Sacred Roots Foundation is excited to be a part of a beekeeping project with the Association for the Development of Cultures of Pygmy People of Gabon (ADCPPG). This initiative provides protective equipment, hives, and intensive training to beekeeper apprentices while welcoming all community members to participate in practical sessions. This inclusive approach aims to cultivate interest in beekeeping as a viable profession and expand the community of skilled beekeepers.
The training program encompasses modern beekeeping techniques for producing premium honey and wax. It includes lessons on hive installation, understanding bee biology, monitoring colony health, honey harvesting and processing techniques, and wax purification for products like candles. This project is more than skill development; it’s an educational journey into the bees’ world, highlighting their role in ecosystems, the local honey flora, and natural pest control methods. By its conclusion, participants will gain beekeeping proficiency and a deep appreciation of the environmental significance of bees.
