past projects
Fostering sustainability through beekeeping: A completed initiative
Sacred Roots Foundation was honored to collaborate on a transformative beekeeping project with the Association for the Development of Cultures of Pygmy People of Gabon (ADCPPG). This initiative provided protective equipment, hives, and intensive training to beekeeper apprentices, while fostering community engagement by welcoming all members to participate in hands-on sessions. By promoting beekeeping as a sustainable profession, the project successfully expanded the local community of skilled beekeepers.
The program offered comprehensive training in modern beekeeping techniques for producing premium honey and wax. Participants learned essential skills such as hive installation, understanding bee biology, monitoring colony health, honey harvesting and processing, and wax purification for products like candles. Beyond technical skills, this project served as an educational experience, deepening participants’ appreciation for the critical role of bees in ecosystems, local honey flora, and natural pest control methods.
Through this initiative, participants not only developed practical beekeeping expertise but also gained a profound understanding of the environmental importance of bees. Sacred Roots Foundation is proud of the impact this project has had in fostering sustainability, education, and community empowerment.

Our fundraising efforts at Sacred Roots Foundation supported the preservation of Lobi’s sacred traditions and the well-being of its people by contributing to the development and restoration of , we aim to providing essential resources such as clean drinking water, safe accommodations, electricity, and housing. These initiatives both uplifted the local community and opened doors for those in the West seeking a genuine connection with the Bwiti tradition.
